(Camping - Pioneering - Cooking Skills Area)

When Baden-Powell founded the Scouting movement, he felt that any Scout who took the time and trouble to master certain Scoutcraft skills should be rewarded.

The Scoutcraft Area offers an exciting program which teaches these special skills and illustrates their usage in everyday life.

Other Scoutcraft Programs Offered

Firem'n Chit Safety rules and regulations are covered as well as fire fighting and fire safety procedures, and the Outdoor Code. A card will be issued upon successful completion.

 
Paul Bunyan The Paul Bunyan Woodsman is directed toward older Scouts who are proven proficient in the use of woodsman tools. The Scout is required to share his knowledge of the use of these tools with other Scouts earning their Totin' Chip. Also, the Scout needs to either spend time cleaning trails, preparing downed trees for other uses, or building a retaining wall as part of a conservation project. A card will be issued upon successful completion and a patch is available in the Trading Post by presenting your card.
 
Wilderness Survival and Camping Outpost Join the Outpost Skills Staffs and learn the basic techniques of the patrol camping method or being stranded with little supplies. These Outposts will teach all the basics needed and is required for Scouts taking Wilderness Survival and Camping Merit Badges.


 

Totin' Chip Will be offered in CaPiCo. Skills taught must be demonstrated to the Scout's Scoutmaster, who will sign off the Totin' Chip card.
